Spring Time Activities

March 20th, 2013 will be the start of Spring. That means people are going to be starting to enjoy the outside weather, if it’s not too cold that is. I took the liberty of researching some common springtime activities and how to avoid some of the potential hazards.

Grass cutting is probably one of the most common springtime activities. Leonor Crossley, who is an internet contributor says emergency rooms see more than 60,000 lawnmower accidents per year. That’s pretty bad. I think a lot of it comes down to common sense. Don’t mow your lawn barefoot, and wear sturdy shoes.

Grilling is another common activity. At the beginning of each season, be sure to to check the gas tank on your grill for leaks and/or cracks. And this sounds like common sense, but only grill outdoors to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning. You may be surprised at how many people forget these little words of wisdom. Something to think about…
